A private dining room laid for a large party

Celebrations

Private dining

Birthdays, anniversaries, christenings, work dinners and the family gatherings that need one long table. We hold a section of the restaurant for parties of ten to twenty-five, and the whole room for larger evenings.

How It Works

One table, one menu, no decisions at eight o'clock

Large tables are difficult in restaurants because ordering takes forty minutes and the food arrives across half an hour. A set banquet solves both. You choose the menu beforehand, the kitchen preps for it, and dishes land in waves for everyone at once.

We will talk it through with you properly — how many guests, what they eat, whether anyone needs vegan or gluten free, whether there is a cake, and what time you would like to sit down. Then we write it down and you can stop thinking about it.

Set Menus

Three ways to feed a room

Every one of these can be adjusted. If your table wants more seafood, less chilli or an extra vegetable dish, say so and we will rewrite it.

Occasions

What we are usually asked for

Birthdays

Bring your cake, tell us when you want it, and we will bring it out with plates and candles. No charge.

Family Gatherings

Round tables at the back seat ten to twelve, so one conversation instead of three. Children are genuinely welcome.

Work Dinners

A set banquet keeps things simple and the bill predictable. We can do one bill or split it however you like.

Christmas

December fills up from early October. If you are planning a work Christmas dinner, book earlier than feels necessary.

Questions

Before you book

Anything not covered here, ring the restaurant. It is almost always quicker than email.

How many people can you seat?

We can hold a section of the restaurant for parties of ten to twenty-five, and take the whole room for forty or more. Tell us roughly how many you expect and we will work out the best arrangement.

How far ahead should we book?

Two weeks is comfortable for most parties. December fills up from early October, so book earlier if you are planning a Christmas dinner.

Can you cater for allergies and dietary needs?

Yes. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free guests are easy to look after, and we cook those dishes in a separate wok. Let us know when you book so the kitchen can plan properly.

Is there a deposit?

For parties of ten or more we ask for a small deposit to hold the date, which comes off your final bill. We will explain it clearly when you book.

Can we bring a cake?

Of course. Bring it in when you arrive, tell us when you would like it, and we will bring it out with plates and candles.

Tell us about your evening

How many people, what date you have in mind, and anything we should know. We will come back to you the same day.
